Lesney Matchbox error pieces 2015
or, the oops hall of fame 2015.

These were all submitted to me in 2015 and are shown here in no particular order, Most are from Forum Members with a few borrowed from ebay and elswhere, These could not have been compiled without your help so a big thank you to all of you that submitted the photos,

When I first saw this one I immediately thought that it was not an error but the interior had been melted some time in the models past, But then I realised that the wheels and tyres which are also plastic have not been affected so I guess it is an error after all, Cool, Photo courtesy Rodger (Tractorboy) from the Forum. Thanks for sharing Rodger. photo rodgertractorboy_zps9ljk8a0m.jpg

This 'oops' affected every 68a Austin Radio truck ever made, The position of the base inscription was moved to a more central placement and the old inscription was not completely erased so you can still read parts of it. Again I don't know where this photo came from but if it is one of yours then get in touch and I will credit it to you. photo SS852527_zpsxstwu3xt.jpg

Another wheel hot foiling error this time courtesy of Moston from the forum, His number 55d Mercury Police car has a neat crescent shape printed on the rear tyre sidewall, Thanks for sharing Moston. photo moston100wheel_zpsir4p4et9.png

Now for an error that could only be made for a very short time when Lesney stopped buying in axles and started making their own, The left axle is an early bought in example with domed head while the one on the right is a rounded head Lesney made axle, Photo courtesy Tandyfan from the Forum. photo tandyaxles_zpsnnc5gns1.jpg

Tandyfan also sent in this picture of his number 66b Greyhound Bus with a malformed rear wheel, my guess is it was due to a shortage of plastic but it could also be due to an air bubble in the mold, Thanks for sharing Tandyfan. photo tandyfanMB66_zpsuabf2wpp.jpg

This is another one from Rodger's (Tractorboy's) collection, This number 12c Land Rover has the mother of all baseplate riveting errors, But when you think of all of Lesneys production its surprising that things like this don't turn up more often, Thanks for sharing Rodger. photo tractorboybase_zpsb0fyl4sq.jpg

Oops, I missed the wheel tread count on this one last time around. I was distracted by the metal sprue trying to escape from the cab, Thanks for sharing Rodger (Tractorboy). photo tractorboycast_zpsp7vwpvcw.jpg

And the final oops in the 2015 hall of fame is also from Rodger (Tractorboy). It is this pretty pink 39a Ford Zodiac Convertible being driven by a very smug looking 2a (or 2b?) Site Dumper driver. I guess he could be stealing it?. Thanks for sharing Rodger. photo tractorboydriver_zpsi38am48m.jpg

I would like to thank each and every one of you for for allowing me to share your error photographs here but I would like to particularly thank Jason (Nearlymint) John (Johnboy) and Rodger (Tractorboy) for their numerous excellent photographs, Well done Chaps.
