Benbros "TV Series" and "Mighty Midgets" 25-28

Number 25 was the Spyker which was probably chosen for the range because of the movie "Geneveve" which featured the car on the London to Brighton veteran car run which was also modeled my Charbens in their "Old Crocks series". The Spyker was constructed in the same manner as the Charbens model, It was a one piece casting with tinplate running boards and mudguards which were painted black. A steering wheel and gold trimmed headlights were fitted, The car can be found in a chrome plated finish or it can be painted, So far pink is the only colour I have seen, The wheels were die cast spoked which were painted red which included the spare which was mounted on the drivers doorway.

Value approximately £20-£30

Number 26 was the 1904 5hp Vauxhall, It was a one piece body casting with black painted tinplate running boards and mudguards riveted to the base, This one also had a steering wheel and gold trimmed headlights fitted, It has die cast spoked wheels which were painted red and should include a spare wheel mounted to the back which is unfortunately missing on my example, This one can also be found in a bright chrome plate finish but has also been seen in yellow. To avoid confusing the Benbros vintage cars with those made by Charbens the Benbros has "Benbros" and "qualitoy" on the tinplate running boards.

Value approximately £20-£30

Number 27 was the 1906 Rolls Royce which was the third and final vintage car in the range. This was a one piece body casting with a black painted running boards and mudguards riveted onto the base, It too was fitted with a steering wheel and gold painted headlights, It also had red painted spoked metal wheels including a spare mounted to the back. So far I have only seen this one painted in blue or turquoise-blue but other colours and a chrome plated version probably exist as well.

Value approximately £20-£30

Number 28 was the Foden 8 wheeled Chain Lorry, This model was a re-issue of the number 20 Foden 8 wheel flat lorry with the addition of chains and posts along the sides of the load bed. This model had unpainted metal wheels to begin with but later black plastic wheels were used, The grille, headlights, front bumper and the chains were all trimmed in silver, It has been seen in yellow, red and in blue and other colours were probably used too. This one is quite sought after and very hard to find

Value approximately £40-£60
