Benbros "TV Series" and "Mighty Midgets" 21-24

Number 21 was the Foden Open Lorry which used the same cab and chassis from the previous model with a modified load bed which had sides cast in, Known colour schemes are metallic pale green, dark blue and pale blue and undoubtedly other colours exist, Unpainted or body coloured metal wheels were fitted to the early issues and black plastic wheels to the later ones. Silver trim was applied to the grille, Like the other Fodens it is hard to find but very sought after.

Value approximately £40-£60

Number 22 was the ERF Petrol Tanker which was a one piece casting, It was always painted red with silver trim to the grille, headlights and fuel tanks, It had six unpainted metal wheels and to complete the model a red, white and blue "Esso" decal was applied to the left side of the tanker, This was the first use of a decal to enhance a model. The ERF is often mistaken for the Lesney version, The lesney usually had one decal at the back or occasionally one decal on each side.

Value approximately £30-£40

Number 23 was the AEC Box Van. It was made in two parts, The cab and chassis and a seperately cast box body which were riveted together. The wheels were die cast and can be found in the body colour or in unpainted metal. This one has been seen in light metallic blue and dark metallic blue and other colours probably exist, Later the model was updated when a Bedford S type cab and black plastic wheels were fitted, This version has been seen in red with "Dunlop" decals fitted.

Value approximately
AEC cab £30-£40
Bedford cab £40-£50

Number 24 was the Field Gun, This was quite a nice model which had been cast in one piece, The metal wheels were fitted and the whole thing was painted military grreen, To add to play value the barrel was fitted with a spring and a firing lever fitted in the breech so the gun could be made to fire matchsticks which was a clever piece of engineering on such a small scale, A towing eye was fitted but unfortunately Benbros forgot to fit a tow hook to any of the military vehicles!.

Value approximately £30-£40
