Lesney Matchbox error pieces 2016 page 9


These were all submitted to me in 2016 and are shown here in no particular order, Most are from Forum Members with a few borrowed from ebay and elswhere, These could not have been compiled without your help so a big thank you to all of you that submitted the photos,


This Rolls Royce has a piece of casting slag stuck to the side which should have been removed during fettling (or rumbling or tumbling)

This is another entry from Steve (matchboxkiwi) from the forum, it shows another superfast model missing its interior

Another example of a blister card oops that has the card upside down, and it also comes fromthe same place as the last two, Hong Kong. This one is from the collection of Ritchie from the forum,

As can be seen in the pic, the axle on this BP tanker was not threaded through both of the eyelets when the axle was riveted leaving one end of the axle free to flap about, this one was sent in by Jason Roper, Thanks for sharing Jason.  photo jas-nm5_zpskxhdftjj.jpg

Extra lables normally get applied to approximately the correct area because they were fitted in place by a machine but it is not always the case as can be seen by this F1 Racing car displaying its racing number '91' on the upside down lable.

Another one that has been borrowed from Facebook. It shows a Piston Popper with the rear axle with large diameter tyres mounted at the front and the front axle with small tyres mounted at the rear which is a fairly common oops on this model.

When I first saw this one I thought someone had photographed a dog turd for me, but no its a deformed wheel which never molded properly due to lack of plastic, Its from the spares box of Gerrit (ecclesley) from the forum, Thanks for sharing Gerrit.  photo ecclesleywheel1_zpsnato4l2c.jpg

And finally the very last piece, and my absolute favourite from 2016 is this Chevrolet Impala which does not need me to explain what the fault is, Superb indeed
