Moko Lesney Matchbox 7b Ford Anglia

The Lesney model of the Ford Anglia joined the Matchbox 1-75 series in 1961.
It's only colour scheme was pale blue and it had blue plastic tinted windows of varying shade and some can appear to be almost clear plastic,
It was fitted with a gloss black baseplate that was attached by a tongue at the front which located through a slot below the front bumper and a round rivet at the rear,
Like most other models a towhook was cast in as part of the baseplate.
It was fitted with a variety of wheel sizes and colours but these were always mounted on dome head axles with rounded ends.

On the baseplate the model number '7' could be cast directly to the baseplate or onto a raised rectangular panel,
The rear rivet post had a few alterations too,
Originally there was one web which joined the post to the inside of the boot (trunk),
Then an additional triangular brace was added to the front edge below the rear window and finally a transverse brace was cast which joined the rivet post to the insides of the rear wings.
There are no particularly rare variations but the grey wheeled version is quite hard to find,
It was availabe in 'C' and 'D type boxes and after a six year run was replaced in 1967 by the 7c ford refuse truck.
