Moko Lesney Matchbox 6c Euclid dump truck

The Lesney model of the 6 wheeled 6c Euclid dump truck replaced the earlier 4 wheeled model in the Matchbox 1-75 series in mid 1963 and like the earlier model it was painted yellow all over like the real vehicles were which included the baseplate.
The early issues had silver trim to the grille & front bumper but this was omitted from the later issues and the axles were dome head with rounded ends.
The early versions were fitted with 12 x 45 black plastic wheels with a smooth inner face at the front which can be with or without wheel nuts molded in and 12.5 x 45 double wheel sets to the rear, These type wheels were usually found only on the Major pack M9 Cooper Jarret Interstate double freighter but examples of the 63c Foamite crash tender and the 11c Jumbo crane have also been found fitted with the single front wheel of this type.
Later the front wheel was changed to the regular 12.5 x 45 black plastic wheel and soon after they replaced the double rear wheel sets with the same wheel type.
The plastic hydro sleeve that holds the tipper body in the up position can be found in black or occasionally white plastic, The white plastic hydro sleeves are found on the early issues and these mostly seem to turn up in the USA.

There were many casting modifications on the Euclid. The right door can have no step, a thin step or a thick step, The left door has two different castings of the steps,
The bumper was usually smooth but the last run had over riders.
The baseplate is slightly modified around the bottom of the fuel tank and the stops that the tipper body sit on were in two sizes
The tipper body can be found with the letter 'A' or 'B' cast and also with the 'E' and part of the 'N' in England missing, with a thin or wide rear crossmember and finally with or without a gap below where the model number is cast which add up to a lot of variations.
Most castings of the Euclid are fairly easy to find but the white hydrosleeve is very hard to find.
The model was packed in 'D' or 'E' type boxes, It was replaced by the 6d Ford pick up truck towardsthe end of 1968.
