Moko Lesney Matchbox 6d Ford pickup truck

The Lesney model of the 6d ford pickup truck was introduced to the Matchbox 1-75 series in 1968.
It was painted red but the shades can vary.
It usually had a flat or gloss black baseplate that was held on by a single rivet at the rear but a hard to find variation has unpainted baseplates,
It had an ivory plastic interior and clear plastic windows and fitted to the pickup bed is a white plastic canopy which has the numbers1,2,3 or 4 on the inside,
It was always fitted with 11 x 45 black plastic wheels on dome head rounded axles and the pickup featured Lesneys auto steer system where the front wheels could be steered by pressing down on the side that you wanted it to steer towards.

The grill was made from plastic and this could be plain white plastic or chromium plated plastic.
There was only one casting variation and that was the addition of the letter (A) in brackets cast into the base and the letter was used as a method of parts identification,
The next number 6 model would have had the letter (B) cast in but the system was soon discontinued.
The pickup was converted to superfast wheels in 1970 and it kept the regular wheel colours but with a variety of different coloured baseplates,
It was deleted in 1973. It was only packaged in the 'F' type boxes and is quite common, There are no rare variations.
