The fifth version of the Y27-1 1922 Foden Steam Wagon was in the very pale green livery of Spillers Animal Feeds, Unlike the earlier Fodens this one had a sack load rather than a canopy, This was followed by the very attractive Guinness liveried van which had an all new load of five barrels mounted on a new load bed casting. The seventh livery was the dark green and brown of Joseph Rank Flour Mills and once again a sack load was thought to be the most appropriate choice of load. The eighth livery was the black and red of McMullen's Brewers which was probably the best looking with its gold lining and company crest. The final Fullers liveried van was packed in a special Fullers box and only released here in the UK, In 1996 Mica produced a maroon and yellow code 2 Foden with "Mica 1996 Club Member" tampo. In 1998 Mica produced a second code 2 Foden which had "Mica Chester 1998" tampo, Its body was painted grey and it had either a red chassis with a red roof or a black chassis with a black roof. The model was not replaced or deleted but no further Y-27 Fodens were issued although many have been produced in the Matchbox Collectibles range. Page 1 Pickfords, Hovis. Tate & Lyle's and Frasers. |
I am not sure if this is a code 1 or 2 but it was only released in the UK and it came packaged in a special Fullers box. |
