Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y-25 1910 Renault type AG van

We rejoin the Y25-1 1910 Renault type AG van halfway through it's production run with the St Johns Ambulance version, This Limited Edition had a completely new rear body cast with side windows and glass and a much flatter roof, Next is the famous Scottish confectioner 'Tunnock' which sadly was to be the last yesteryear model to be assembled at the Rochford factory.
The Belgian food retailers Delhaize van was to celebrate the companys 120th anniversary which was followed by the Suchard van of the Swiss chocolate manufacturer, The Y-25 was not replaced or deleted but no further issues were released.

The St. John's Ambulance version had a completely new rear van body cast, It featured window openings and blue tinted glass and a new plastic roof which was flatter than the previous issues and it did not have a roof rack fitted. The van body and roof were painted military green and the baseplate /wings were black. The normally brass plated windscreen frame was painted green and the headlights were painted black, It had mid brown plastic seats and a black plastic steering wheel and it was fitted with dull green 12 spoke wheels.
The baseplate still had the recess for the spare wheel although this model did not come with a spare wheel fitted.

Above: This limited Edition Renault can be found with a
"Matchbox © 1986 England" or a
"Matchbox © 1986 Limited Edition England"
baseplate. I'm not sure that a St. John's ambulance would have been painted military green as it is a charity organisation, The model would have looked good painted white and being an emergency vehicle it should have had a bell.

Above: The Tunnock's van had a red painted body and a black baseplate /wings. The roof and seats were white plastic and it usually had black 12 spoke wheels although gold 12 spoke wheels have been seen on this model. Some tunnock vans have been found with closed grab handles but the majority have open handles, Also there are a few found with a hole in the cab floor and also silver plated brightwork has been seen but these components are usually brass plated.

Above: Tunnock vans can be found with the following baseplates-
"Matchbox © 1983 England"
"Matchbox © 1986 England" or
"Matchbox © 1986 Limited Edition England"
which were intended to be used on the earlier ambulance issue.

Above: In 1987 the Belgian food retailer Delhaize celebrated their 120th anniversary and to mark the event they had Matcbox produce the Renault in their livery, The model was painted dark green except for the baseplate which was black, It had a white plastic roof and darkish red plastic seats and gold plated 12 spoke wheels,
Because there is more than one national language in Belgium the tampo print on the sides of the van were written in Flemish (Dutch) and Wallon (French),
The baseplate inscription always read "Matchbox © 1986 Macau"

Above: The rear number plate braces were thickened during the production run so both thin and thick braces can be found on this model.

Above: The Delhaize van can be found with the early type thin
braces to the rear number plate or with the thicker later type braces,
The Suchard van always had the later thicker type braces.

Above: The final release was in the pleasing lavender livery of 'Suchard Chocolat' the Swiss chocolate manufacturer, It had a black baseplate and white plastic roof and dark brown seats. It always had open grab handles and thicker rear number plate braces and there were no holes cast into the cab floor.
There were no known variations.

Above: The Suchard van always had gold plated 12 spoke wheels and the baseplate incription reads "Matchbox © 1986 Macau".
