Y-23 1922 AEC Omnibus continued from previous page,
This page: Rice Krispies, Haig Whisky and Lifebuoy Soap.

>

The forth release was in the livery of the Express Omnibus Companies brown and cream with labels for 'Haig' Whisky, It had dark or light red wheels and dark or mid brown seats and the front destination board was redesigned to display Haig adverts and a Picadilly Circus destination so it at least matched the one at the rear. The dark brown of the body was pretty consistent but the plastic of the upper deck can be off white or light or dark cream. There were no rare variations.

Above: The Haig Whisky / Express version was quite a nice looking
model and the generic label on the staircase matched the one up front.

Above: The next release displayed labels for 'Rice Krispies', It was still in the livery of London General although the front and rear destination boards had been deleted in favour of the new Rice Krispies labels. It was originally offered as an on pack promotional to celebrate the Rice Krispies 60th anniversary before becoming a regular issue, It was made in Macau and the baseplate was modified to show this although some have been found with Made in England baseplates that are believed to be pre production models.

Above: The generic 'Picadilly' label was replaced by a Rice Krispies label.

Above: The final release was in the livery of East Surrey Omnibus Companies blue and cream with cream wheels, The Advertising boards were fitted with 'Lifebuoy Soap' labels and the front destination board read Hartfield, Originally there was a spelling mistake but this was later rectified. The grille, seats and lifeguards were dark brown plastic and it had a made in Macau baseplate. The model was not deleted or replaced but no further issues were released.

Above: The East Surrey was probably the most attractive AEC,
It was released as a Limited Edition.

Above: The early East Surrey bus destination board has a spelling mistake that read "Coptworne", Later issues were modified to "Copthorne".
