Matchbox King-Size No.K-24 Lamborghini Miura

The Lesney Matchbox King-Size K-24 Lamborghini Miura joined the range in 1969. It was originally illustrated as having opening doors but when the model was released it did not have the opening doors but the engine cover could be opened by tipping it backwards to reveal a detailed engine bay. The model was painted metallic red and it had clear plastic windows and white interior, The headlight and grille detail was cast as part of the baseplate and it was fitted with smooth chrome hubs with rubber tyres and later issues were fitted with mag type wheels but still with rubber tyres, It was packaged in F type boxes with a header card, Later it was adapted to take superfast type wheels and became a 'Speed King', These later issues were available in metallic bronze, blue or burgundy with a variety of bonnet labels, It was replaced by the Scammell Container Truck in 1976.
