Matchbox King-Size No.K-20 Ford D800 Articulated Tractor Transporter

1967 saw the introduction of the Lesney Matchbox King-Size K-20 Ford D800 Articulated Tractor Transporter, This had a red painted tractor unit and trailer with either red or yellow fuel tanks which when raised would uncouple the trailer, The cab had a red roof beacon, green tinted windows and the silver plated baseplate included the grille detail in the casting.
The trailer had a yellow plastic ramp that had arms to hold the tractor load in position, On the later Big MX version the arms were removed from the ramp. The tractor and trailer were both fitted with red plastic hubs and black plastic tyres and the trailer suspension clip can be light green, white or clear plastic and probably other colours too.
The Tractors are regular 39c 1-75 issues that are painted blue with yellow plastic hubs and black plastic tyres and steering wheel. The set was packaged in F type window boxes, In 1970/71 the truck and trailer were converted to superfast wheels and recoloured to bright red cab with yellow trailer, or blue cab with yellow, silver-grey or gold trailer or red cab with silver grey trailer, The later issues have orange 39c Ford Tractors which are eagerly collected by regular wheel 1-75 collectors although they were not actually part of the 1-75 series.

Matchbox King Size No.K20 Ford D800 Articulated Tractor Transporter - red, yellow, plastic hubs with black tyres and 3 x No.39 Ford Tractor - light blue, yellow plastic hubs with black tyres - conditions are generally Near Mint to Mint, inner pictorial stand is Excellent, outer blue and yellow window box is Good (has been re-perspexed at some time).
