Matchbox King-Size No.K-14 Taylor Jumbo Crane
|
The Lesney Matchbox King-Size K-14 Taylor Jumbo Crane joined the range in 1964, The first of the Cranes were painted yellow all over including the weight box, They had green tinted plastic windows and were enhanced with a red & white striped decal applied to the front bumper which included the headlights and number plate detail and a black & white decal on the weight box read 'Taylor Jumbo Crane', The first weight box decals were rather feint so were later replaced by a decal with heavier printing. Towards the end of production the front bumper decal was replaced by an identical label which was probably because the label was less likely to get damaged during play when compared to the original decal that was fitted. Like the smaller Jumbo Crane in the 1-75 series the weight box was later recoloured to red. The hubs were red plastic with black plastic tyres and a white plastic 'wire' attached an unpainted metal hook to the crane jib, The models can be found in D, E and F type boxes with the F type box being a window box which can be with or without the header card, The model was deleted in 1970/71 to make way for the Scammell Freight Liner.
