Matchbox King-Size No.K-13 ERF Concrete Mixer
|
1963 saw the Lesney Matchbox King-Size K-13 ERF Concrete Mixer join the range at number 13, This one was always painted orange all over except for the chute attached to the back which was cast as part of the base and that was painted black, The headlights, grille and front bumper were trimmed with silver paint and the cab was fitted with clear plastic windows, The truck came with two different liveries which I believe were both for the same company, there could be either "Readymix" or "RMC" painted on to the mixer barrel and the cab doors had "Ready Mixed Concrete Limited" decals which usually had a white background but are known to have a clear background which allows the orange colour to show through, The wheel hubs are usually orange plastic but unpainted metal hubs were also used and both types were fitted with black plastic tyres, The model was packaged in D, E and F type boxes with the F type being window boxes, The ERF was replaced by the DAF Building Transporter in 1970/71.
