That is a good looking restoration and the faded plating on the engine could have been replaced by using the 'Alclad II' method which entails removing the old plating from the Corgi engine moulding by dipping it in household bleach, drying, spraying with Alclad II Black and when dry, spraying of Alclad II Silver which when dry gives an absolutely stunning 'Chrome' effect finish. I would Google ALCLAD II CHROME SPRAY and see some of the results.

The real one is still occasionally seen at old car shows. I took this photo about 2 years ago.
