The NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition) has variation 45-2B (BPW, unpainted base) noted as having two shades of what is described as pale greenish-white. The painted base variations (equivalent to Nick's code 1) are 45-2C (pale greenish-white) and 45-2D (off-white).
The AIM “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983), Houghton, and Stannard do not list any models not already covered by Nick.
U.K. Matchbox did not examine the model.
We did briefly visit this model in another thread (which I am now unable to find), and someone posted a photograph very clearly showing two different body colours (presumably the NAMC's greenish-white and off-white). We therefore need to determine which of Nick's codes occur in which colour(s), although the shades highlighted by NAMC may cloud the issue.
It should also be noted that Nick is still looking for evidence of a short run without the interior.
ADDENDUM: Lesney Link no. 6 (Dec. 86) p162 states that a “very, very pale body colour – almost cream – and not a sun fade…” has been found. This cannot be the model listed in the NAMC Catalogue since that is copyright 1971, suggesting the confirmed existence of a very, very pale/off white variation.
