Not yet. Wondering if I should leave wheels red or hope they will take green paint.
=======================================================================
Meanwhile, just finished a Mercury Commuter Police Wagon. Suspension was shot so now it has lollipop stick hard suspension.
Strangely it sits a bit higher now.
I notice that the civvy versions of the Commuter have narrow wheels and a single rear rivet whereas the police versions have wide wheels and double rear rivets.
The refurbished police version I have fitted with 3mm LED lights and narrow wheels (I hadn't any spare wide wheels with chrome intact).
Interior of same has been painted to help pick out the detail in the rear. Decals are for the Police Fairlanes.
Top Photo L to R: reasonable condition police / re-furbished police / tatty police to re-furbish into a black and white or similar / 2x civvy versions re-furbished in non standard colours.
For some reason, the forum won't let me post my usual size photos 800 x ??? so had to post at 600 x ???

They should accept paint just fine.

That's because the the police version is a new casting made for the superfast era and the single rivet casting is the old regular wheel casting with a new base.

That's probably because
we now have a form of automatic resizing. Please try it and let me know what you think.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel here.
Here's a project I did a few months back on the Matchbox K8 Scammell.
Windscreens enlarged and an attempt at adding headlights.
Finished off in Wimpey yellow and black livery.
The orange version will eventually be shortened
either as a six or a 4 wheeler as per the bottom photoshop preview.
Not sure yet.

I Love the Wimpy model with the headlights. The enlarged windows are an interesting feature that gives it a very unique look. A lot of work has gone into that model and it really looks great!
Some pieces and parts, some from this some from that:

Went with the standard red wheels in the end.
Pivot rivet was undersized so was sleeved and glued.
This was a really battered example and a poor casting to boot.
The jib had loose hydro sleeves and rattly rivets but it will do for display.

A couple of Matchbox K3a Caterpillar D9 Dozers.
Must be an interim machine as it is a D9 with a D8 grille.
Amazing how these seem to turn up without the dozer blade so mine are crawlers.
Stripped them down, drilled out the exhaust stack, repainted and added new rubber tracks.
I'm not happy with the finish of the yellow one, so I'll be having another go at it and maybe give it a matching yellow engine as well.
Yellow roller wheels would lift it as well, as would yellow tracks.
They cost me only 20p each from a car boot sale although the paint and replacement tracks bumped their price up by about 1,500%
