Stephan,
Amazing job on the Rolls convertible! I am particularly impressed you were able to cut out the roof leaving those thin, delicate window frames and then use the cutout to fabricate a new boot lid.
Well done!

Hi John and Kurt,
thanks for replies on the Rolls.
Here´s a picture where you can see the repaired boot lid after clueing the part of the roof in.
The material Matchbox used (is it Zamac?) is quite hard so it is not really a problem to remove parts of the roof and leave the window frames standing.
The original paint of was the hardest ever to remove.
It tooked hours to remove it completely - usaually I take paint remorver bud this time it didn´t really work.

Hi Stephan, I am really impressed by this latest custom and even more so with the boot lid. Can you tell us how you manages to create it from an off cut of the roof?
I note that you have managed to replicate the edge trim line and the boot handle which must have been tricky not to mention getting the metal bent to the correct shape. Is it fully hinged and functional?
It's a pity Ghosty is off-line at the moment as he would love this custom I am sure.
Great work mate!

Hi,
I´m sorry sorry bud there was a misunderstanding.
I did not make a new boot lid.
I just replaced the broken away part of the back of the model.
Here´s a picture.

And yes I hope that we can get Ghosty back to write here - something is missing.

No need to apologise mate. Here's me thinking you could perform miracles with metal!!!
Still a great job.

Hi Guys, have managed to spare a few moments and Stephan has done a great job on the #44b Rolls-Royce creating what we can class as a Landaulette Phantom V. It is also in a very nice colour. You can be very proud of that rebuild/restore.
Ghosthunter.

No Problem.
The part should not cost more then 2 Dollar if I order them at shapeways.
But this part was made by a friend for free.
If you want I can sent you 1 or 2 of them.
But the parts need a little work which should not be a problem for you.
And Bob thanks for your reply - I like the color too thats how a Landy should look like.
Stephan
Sorry, I have not revisited this thread until just now. I'd love to have one or two of those modified printed windscreens for the Landy. Will gladly reimburse you for the cost and postage. If any are still available, please send me a PM with the cost and details.
