Chris, it's interesting that your link leads 'catalogues' the same completely trimless variation. It's not a variation recognised by Nick Jones (here), and it's not one I came across when doing my review (here.)
The model shown has the later spare wheel hole casting, and so is not a pre-production. Nevertheless, I would suggest that it is probably worth keeping 'as is' rather than restore it.

Hi, Thanks for letting me join. I was avid collector as a child, in the 60s and still have my original set. I now look for cars at yardsales, and online to restore. Its a fun hobby and brings back many memories. I don't touch my originals, they have too many memories.

The Alvis was done two weeks ago. I 3D printed the canvas top, created the decales on Adobe Illustrator and printed on a vinyl printer, and the tires are o-rings.

I am glad to meet you all! I have a collection of all 75 models, MIB, for Lesney Matchbox 1968 regular wheels, and also all 75 models for the 1970 Superfast wheeled models. I also have two original cardboard dealer displays, both in mint condition. (I've attached an image of the older 1960's display, it is not mine but identical to this one). Unfortunately I am forced to sell my entire collection and wanted to ask what would be the recommended way to go about doing it. I have a couple of long time eBay accounts, but thought it might be better to sell through a collector's site. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!

Hello, thanks for adding me to the forum. My name is Arnold and i started collecting diecast cars as a kid, first with Tootsietoys, then on to Models of Yesteryear. Now that I'm an old geezer I've taken the hobby up again and I'm having a great time with collecting again.

Hello guys and thank you for letting me become a part of this wonderful forum. My name is George---just a dumb Yank from the states. I have been a Matchbox fan since I was just a button and still find pleasure in them in my old age. This forum has been a huge wealth of information I never knew of before and has helped me develop an eye for the fakers. You fellas know your subject very well. I have close to 200 matchbox models which includes some king size stuff. Most I have had since my childhood and many I have picked up through the years. I own nothing rare and I do not own anything MIB. Matter of fact I only have two boxes and neither one is in very good condition. I really dont worry about boxes and only collect for ME and MY pleasure. I do conversions, re-paint and restore models but they will NEVER be sold or passed off as originals, they are for me and me only. I usually will repaint or restore a model after I have done some research on this forum as I want to make sure I do not destroy some rare piece, even though I to my knowledge have never seen or held one. I mostly buy junkers and work to make them a jewel and again, just for me. Play worn originals of mine are usually left as they are unless they are damaged. I find this hobby very enjoyable and it brings many memories of happy hours of playtime as a kid and I enjoy giving these broken and beat-up models a second life. I know I am not the kind of collector some of you guys are but I do save a model from time to time from the dumpster. Thanks again for letting me be here, you guys are the best.
