My Dads real Victor F Type was a later series without the stylised rear door panel. It was originally owned by the De Havilland Aircraft Company, painted all gloss black and used as a chauffeur driven directors car.

When it was sold into private ownership it was repainted to a two-tone scheme so was pale green and black, a popular colour combination on the Victor at that time but for some reason, the green was painted on the wrong areas of the car so it did not actually match what was shown in the Vauxhall brochure, the colour split was the opposite to what it should havee been.

Super Ford Traktor mit Anhänger!
They look great together. The colors really work. We still see some of these red and grey Ford tractors in use on a few of the small local farms.
(Nicely photographed too!)

What a great pair. I’d leave the yellow hubs.

Thank you for sharing.

Jaguar in silver with silver engine wouldn´t work.
So I painted the base and moter in anthrazit.

I think some black wheels would look good and give some much needed contrast. Maybe even better, chrome hubs and black tires. Being all silver, it looses the front trim and the gray wheels tend to washout the color palate of the model. I have some models where I struggle to get the right contrast of parts and/or colors to keep things visually interesting. I don't always succeed and sometimes have to strip everything down and start over.

I used to own one of these (Mercedes in pic below) in silver gray. So I thought I'd paint one in a silver gray. It looked washed out, you couldn't tell the base/grille/headlights from the rest of the model. The wire wheels failed to stand out because of the whole monochrome thing going on. I added a different wind screen and it still wasn't enough contrast. So back to the drawing board and I redid it in a metallic graphite - huge difference. I didn't get a replica of my old car but I got a model that I loved the look of.

Now I decided to give some new paint and a new window inlet.
If you look to close you see the failures but in the hand with my bad eyes it looks quite good.

Looks sooo much better! I wish I had your steady hand with the trim paint.

Turned out quite well and with the colour match to the #69 DHC looks as if it came out of the Lesney factory. I have no problem in awarding a full 10/10.
