Duck a lot!

Wife: Now's a good time to do some of the painting around here. 

Me: Yep, sad thing is I don't have the paint. 

Wife: Can't you get some? 

Me: Nope, the paint store is closed cause of the Virus.

 Wife: Really? 

Me: Yep. 

Wife calls the paint store to make sure they are closed. Someone answers the phone at the paint store.

Store employee: The store interior is closed to customers but we are still making up orders for curb side pick-up and delivering orders to our commercial clients. 

Wife: Ya know, I think my husband has an an account there at the store (wife provides my full name). 

Store employee: Ah yes, you are correct, he does have an account. Just let me know what you need and we'll deliver it to where ever he needs it today.

Cut to the chase: About 2.5 hours later, a van pulls up and drops off an order of paint along with a new brush and a couple of paint roller covers. I did come up with one other stall tactic: I told her that we needed to Quarantine the item's for 48 hours before we touch them.  Those two days went by too quickly.

great story Joe. At least when its done it won't need it for another few years.

Like a lot here, I'm retired. However jobs that normally get done when "she who must be obeyed" is off on one of her foreign trips (i.e. out of the bloody way) have had to be done while she's still in the house. This means jobs take 3x as long as everything has to be tidied away and cleaned up at the end of each day instead of being left until the job's done. However, the house maintenance work is now complete.
This meant now was the time to attack the model room deep clean. 1541 models removed from cabinets, all individually cleaned, catalogue details checked and all cabinets cleaned before everything put back neatly.
What next? A nice 7-8 mile walk over The South Downs as a bit of exercise and light relief. Probably not see more than a dozen other people on my chosen route. Bliss. And it's going to be sunny and 21C. Hurrah.

my job is considered essential...so im am working...a building that housed 300 employees has only 25 people there now...the 275 are working from home...the first two weeks when everyone was sent home in the first wave the remaining workers about 75 received an extra 100 dollars a day pay...also we receive free lunch everyday and that looks to be on going till the lockdown is over...im gaining weight!
