What do you do during lockdown?

Being retired, there’s not a lot of difference at home due to the lockdown. However I’ve noticed I need to spend quite some time in my toy room to escape the “needs“ of my loved one. (Two minutes sat down reading and my misses always finds me something to do).
I am fascinated with “Road Trains,”, probably stems from my father being a HGV driver and having two children in Australia.
Here’s a view of my “workplace”. Several different ideas on the go at present.
It’s extremely difficult to find dollys on their own at an acceptable price and nobody appears to make tri-axle ones.

Currently I´m working on a Airfix kit (SD.KFZ.7 Tractor and 88mm Gun) which I wanted to build since I was 10 or 11.
In those times there was no money left for this.

I´m working in home office which is pretty cool because it safes me together 45 minutes of driving to my workplace and back.

What I miss most is to go hiking with friends.
We always go hiking at the weekend - this time only together with my wife.
It is not the same.

Second thing I miss is fleamarkets and model trade fares.
Biding on Ebay is at the moment very expensive because lot of people have time to spent on Ebay.

Sad is the thing with my parents.
I havn´t seen them for a while and they often ask if they could come for a visit - what can you say - it is not easy for them and us.

Great posts,I can relate to both of those......I miss my one night a week out at the pub..Always a good band on ,sometimes including me,Superb Holts bitter at a rock bottom price and a proper chat and rant with my mates who all know each others likes and dislikes but never fall out over anything..

Still I've got her indoors who now has to do the shopping which she hates

I have the joy(?) of working from home on a company laptop. At least I can have my home laptop beside it to take occasional breaks... like now.

I finally have time to finish installing the new hardwood flooring I’ve had sitting in my garage for 2 years and didn’t have time to do. Plus paint and wallpaper, refinish rear deck, yard work... the honey do list is endless! It’s great to finally get it done, though.

Due to my age and high risk factors, I began sheltering at home about 10 days prior to the big shut-down. The wife has been sheltering and working from home for over a month now. She is even higher risk than me. There isn't really any work I can do from home and I'm not being paid, the future of my job is in limbo at this time.  The only good news is that if we had to give up one paycheck, mine would be the one (wife makes twice what I earn, or did earn depending if I have a job to go back to).I'm doing some of the home improvements that I had already bought the materials and supplies to do and I'm back restoring and customizing vintage Matchbox.  I have already started to run out of certain colors of model paint and a few other supplies. Some things I can get online, others I can't.  So, some of my restorations might lean more towards customs as my paint options dwindle. Others will be completed as far as I can go while they await items needed to finish them. I miss outings with friends and family. I miss dining out on Friday and/or Saturday night with friends. I miss work and the interactions with people generated during the course of work. I miss my paycheck from work. On the other hand, I've yet to get bored with all the things to do around the house and the ability to spend the time working on some Matchbox is a luxury I haven't had for a while.One other interesting positive effect is that my spending (other than essential expenses) has dropped to almost nothing for the last month, so that helps ends meet. Here comes the blatant and shameless plug for Tinman's eBay sales ...
