I dob't have a base like shown with a ground out area and then painted. Mine is flat with no ground marks or indented.

In my opinion, the former undoubtedly represents a fake, whilst the latter is genuine.

Undoubtedly so and clearly visible. This is the only pic i had available to show TD the area to concentrate on when taking pics.
Thanks for posting the base pics TD,appreciated. Your specimen is a genuine prepro specimen and wish to use your specimen as a template/tool with finding out more about these base progressions.Could u please focus on the ringed area (clear close-pic) as per my pic so that the light clearly falls on that particular area so as to ascertain/establish whether your specimen too has what i feel could be the erased text that was possibly done at the factory. As i mentioned earlier,i could very well be wrong.
Your help/input would be great and appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
numi

Sorry to seem like a Negative Nelly with my comments on the Austin. I've never seen one in that condition that was anything other than a model that changed over time (from environment, exposure or other reasons). I don't see any issues with your other models and have enjoyed the show.

If Members wish to continue discussing the pale blue 29b, could they please do so in a separate thread?
Thank you!
