I need to clarify here - are we talking about "Searches You Follow" or something else... I ask because all of my searches still work.

The whole listing of items process has changed too, I can no longer sell things in a Matchbox category. I don't think this will go down too well with buyers or sellers and imho is another nail in the coffin.

Hi Tim & all I think its another Ebay scam I don't think they want any second hand things on there any more as it is just wasting their time. There is so much rubbish on Ebay its blocking all the channels up. It will be a nightmare for any novice now Pete

You can search under Lesney or Matchbox but you will get the whole lot coming up. So if say, I want MOY, I have to input MOY to search and get them up. That's ok but others do not list as MOY , pre 1970 etc. so you have to go through the entire Lesney listings to find it all. You can search on what colour car you like or whether it is a car, lorry etc - what bloody good is this ! Who collects all blue cars !!
It has been like this in Oz and the US for a while now so I rwaely go there and the UK was one of the few holding out with all the old cats like, Accessories, MOY, Regular , Superfast etc - now total crap to search. Think its the end of me and will use auction houses now in future only. All this plus their ripoff of taking a percentage of the postal cost - what the hell has postage to do with them either and sure this must be illegal. There only charges as they are not an auction site, merely bringing together a seller & buyer is to take a cost of the sale transaction, not postage.

you can also search for the exact model too...13 dodge wreck truck...but being there are 75 models...thats a long time to search each model everyday...not counting MOYs...king size...major packs...transitionals...accessories...its been 10 years or so since ive been buying off ebay...a good run i guess...they made changes so many times...first time it has affected my ability to search for what im looking for...like i said...i emailed them about the change and how it sucks for people who collect matchbox...nothing will be changed...we have to change...as Mick said...i have to search matchbox...then see there is 26,000 items...i then have to refine my search in the search box...get it down to 14,000 items...then refine it some more and get 321...from 14,000 to 300...this is where we get hurt with the new system...ugh...we will miss so many opportunities to get good loot...and the seller will lose as many people wont see their stuff and lose money...way to go ebay...not that they care...they dont

I have been using this search:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/Other-Vehicles- ... d=Matchbox
With the new revisions it brings up results in this category:
Toys & Hobbies> Diecast & Toy Vehicles> Other Vehicles> Vintage Manufacture> Matchbox
The above will work, but it's going to take long time before people use it to list under and search for pre-70 Regular wheels. Right now it only brings up two pages worth of models.

I've just set up a couple of listings and "Vintage Manufacture" is the listing category and a category is compulsory but there are numerous item specific fields and brand is one of them. Unfortunately these fields are not compulsory when listing and many people leave out all or some of the item specifics.

We could post a recommended set of options that sellers should use in their listings. After all, we have the only list of member approved sellers and dealers.

Just that our recommended set of options will probably not be adhered to by some guy or lady somewhere selling off a relative's collection.
I hate it when ebay changes anything. Most of the time it's just complicating something that was working fine, or it is a completely useless new feature. And then they put in bugs like when only the first few search results showed up with the gallery picture.
Their IT and webdesign staff constantly have to make suggestions or change something just to justify their own jobs. Not even the basic search does work properly since months - some sellers that ship worldwide don't show up in the search results but if you change to another country site, they do - or other items from the same seller are not found, and so on ...
Most of all I am still annoyed that the search option of "any country/region" is gone which showed much more results than "worldwide".
Still, ebay will stay my main source for models as I haven't found much in the last few years at the few toy shows/swapmeets that we still have.
