So the first one is a 1/36 #271 and according to the picture I made for you (didn't remember how the bases look like, thanks having made me touch again these models since a long time) the second one is the 1/45 second issue #270.
The first one is the 271 that dates between 1978-81. It was the 3rd Bond Aston Martin to be released
The second one is the smaller and older 270 which dates between 1968-76 This is the first issue
The second issue which is not shown is the same as issue 1 but it does not have the tyre slashers and it dates from 1977-78

According to The Great Book of Corgi the first issue is the #261 launched in oct. 1965
It was based on the DB4 cast. And painted in gold because because the attempt to paint it in silver was uggly.

You are correct, The 261 was the first, it did not have the tyre slashers, Dad bought me one on the day after we went to see Thunderball. What a toy!.

Model number 261 took Corgi into the Guiness book of records for record sales of the model...
...and yes, I also had one not long after it came out and sadly was stolen (along with all my other Corgi, Dinky and Matchbox models), in the early 1980's and have been wanting to replace it for many Years...and I did very recently for only £40, missing the 'Baddy' figure, but I still had the figure from my original model and will be performing a reunion of them pretty soon, watch this space...

Fabulous, could not be more complete, everything is there and I see it is the second box design with the 'Prompt' arrow on the plynth for the instructions and the 'Shadow' behind...ASTON MARTIN D.B.5, on the front of the box, lovely example, thanks for showing it "Familybucket43".

This one seems to be the very first issue regarding the box.
