The above models only span 1960-61 (about mid-61), when the plating of models started to take place, so the next model in the line-up could be a 'Giftware' version, still with Grey 'knobbly' tyres. I can not remember where those 'Anniversary' issues go, as that information is on the other Hard drive and I have nothing on those now, not even the pictures. I would have to find them again on the forum, re-save them, study them and put them in the 'Time-Line', I can't even remember if they both have Grey 'knobbly' tyres, I know the Silver model has them.

The next models after the 'Giftware' versions will be the Black 'knobbly' tyre versions, about another 9 models, which just takes us into 1962.

Here are the next models in the 'Time-Line' for Y-15. I said in my earlier post there were around 9 models to appear, thare are actually 10 shown here and it does include the 'Giftware' plated versions.
All models here have the Black 'Knobbly' tyres, but as you go down the line (model No.6), the spare tyre is the 'Smooth' type and this is normal, they have not been changed, as the rest of the models have 'Smooth' spare tyres and was a clue to the model having all 'Smooth' tyres at some point in the near future.

Bob stated earlier he had around 40 examples of Y-15 and was assuming I would have about double this... , I don't know about that, but according to my paperwork listings, in March 1998, I had 32 examples with a handful waiting to be assessed, so Bob is not doing too bad at the moment...

From the above Two postings, it is very likely there will be around 40 versions of the Y-15 Rolls-Royce we could look at in detail, but this is quite boring for the casual collector, so instead of posting a picture of all 40 version here, I have started to post them on my own website within their own section.

If you click on the link at bottom left of my post here, you will go to my Rolls-Royce website where you then click on the 'MATCHBOX' tab at the top of the page, scroll down to a smaller...'Show Me More Versions' picture and click on it. This will take you to the Y-15 versions section, but please be patient, this involves a lot of work because I have to create new pictures of all the models in my collection, I don't have any ready, but please do look at what I have in there already, I will add to it as often as I can, thank you.

While prepairing my website for some pictures and getting models out for some pictures, I thought I would show the rather odd version with the Blue tinted paintwork here in this thread.

I have seen several of these and the model's specification matched the one shown here, this is enough to confirm it was a full factory produced model. It comes from the last Year or so of production before the model was deleted from the range in 1969 and the normal Green model shown next to it has exactly the same specification and they were displayed together in my collection as model numbers 29 and 30.

Having got as many of the Black 'Smooth' tyre versions out to check the specification of a few versions for dating purposes, I dug out a box of 'Giftware' models. These are models given a 'Chrome' or 'Gold' effect finish for mounting onto ashtrays and trinket boxes etc as shown below.
There are about 28 models in this box, purchased at various toy fairs, either still on the 'Giftware' items (then removed by me), or already separated from those items.

When the first Four models were chosen for plating and mounting on a pottery box or ashtray, the Y-15 was one of them. The model was introduced with a Silver ('Chrome' effect), plated finish first, with a 'Gold' effect finish later.

TY-15 was a Black Porcelain tray with the Silver Ghost mounted by Two screws and the screws were covered by hollow posts. These were introduced during 1962 onto the UK retail market and I believe the listing below is the first range of 'Giftware' items for the UK.

Two more cars were added a Year or so later to make Six cars.
