Another very nice find Brad. I need to now find the variation with the cab blocks. These decaled Tankers are not easy to find at all, you have done real well!
I did also find the model I mentioned above that had oxidation under it's paint when checking through my 75A Thunderbirds. The original trunk paint on one of mine is cracked, but not falling off at all. It doesn't show signs of an impact at all, so I am left to suspect the improper casting preparation and some resulting sub-paint oxidation as we discussed above. I may never know what lies underneath, because I would never pull off the original paint to ever check it. (even for our Forum knowledge) Maybe I'll find a more common beater one day with checked paint that I can sacrifice without guilt......LOL...kwakers

I saw someone asking $333 for a decaled version. That's some pretty righteous bucks for something that seems like it would be easy to take.

I have seen that one advertised, and it is dead Mint and boxed from a known dealer. As with any variation, what you ask means very little, it's what you sell it for that matters. I have been surprised many times with both high and cheap selling prices that I have seen over the years. I like the cheap ones myself, but sometimes if you 'need' it..........LOL kwakers

I hope you didn't think I was questioning that particular dealer's veracity. I didn't even think to see if they were on the trusted seller list.
I was just surprised to see a model with that kind of asking price based largely on a decal especially after hearing all the horror stories of the lengths that some will go to produce counterfeits.
I could maybe see spending that kind of scratch but I'd have to be in an actual physical dealer's shop to do it, I'm too cautious to do it online. I suppose that I too will stick with the cheap stuff.

Oh no kbean63, I was simply dancing a bit because I know the Seller. Look him up by name and you will find he is mentioned here quite often because of the quality of his collection. The asking prices in his store are quite retail, but he makes his living now dealing in our Toys. What a tough Job.....LOL

I have a 75a the same way. Mine does appear to be a matter of corrosion, or metal failure, not just a paint issue.
