Lot 2092 Dinky Toys - October 11th, 2007
Dinky - No.60Y Thompson Aircraft Refuelling Tender - extremely scarce Pre-war promotional model produced by Dinky for the Thompson Bros. of Bilston manufacturing company who produced the prototype vehicle. The model was given to the vendor by the Thompson sales director in the 1960s in whose desk drawer it had been stored for many years! There is an accompanying letter from the vendor as provenance. The model is red, with black wings, brown driver and the side panels read "Aircraft Refuelling Tender" with the initials TB Thompson Bros. logo, the model is fitted with repro rubber wheels and front axle, but is still a very scarce example as not many would have been produced in the first place.
