Morestone Miniatures or "Esso Petrol Pump" series 17-20

Number 17 was the Ford Thames 5cwt van which was a one piece casting with a seperate gloss black baseplate, It was always painted blue with silver trim to the grille and headlights.

It was fitted with grey metal wheels on crimped axles, It was a rather plain casting and the paint tends to flake off very easily but because of this and it only being in production for one year makes for a very rare model. It was made from 1957-58

Number 18 was the Foden dumper lorry which had a tipping dump so Morestone had at last actually made a model with added play value!. It had a red body & chassis with a yellow or grey dump, Silver trim was applied to the grille, headlights and front bumper.

Grey metal wheels were mounted on crimped axles to the early issues and later black plastic wheels on rounded axles were fitted. It was made from 1957-66

Value approximately £20-£30

Number 19 was the Rover 105 which was a one piece body casting with a seperate black painted baseplate, The body was usually painted green but gold examples have been seen, Silver trim was applied to the grille, headlights and bumpers.

Early models had grey metal wheels on crimped axles but later black plastic wheels were mounted on axles with rounded ends. It was made from 1957-70

Number 20 was the Plymouth Belvedere Convertible, It had a one piece body casting with a seperate red painted baseplate which included the seats and driver as part of the casting, The body was painted in pink or white with silver trim to the grille and bumpers.

Grey metal wheels on axles with crimped ends were used to begin with but later black plastic wheels on axles with rounded ands were fitted. It was made from 1957-64

In 1960 the range continued to be marketed as as "Modern vehicle series" or "Mobile vehicle series".
