PLEASE NOTE: I will no longer be altering the variation codes. All new discoveries will be inserted in to their correct place in the timeline and given a suffix.
So a new variation that would be nearest to variation 4 would become the new 4a, etc.

Moko Lesney Matchbox 50c Ford Kennel truck

The Ford F 100 Kennel truck replaced the John Deere tractor at the number 50 spot in the Matchbox 1-75 series in early 1969.
The kennel truck was painted metallic green with green tinted windows, It had 11 x 45 black plastic wheels on dome head axles with rounded ends.
The grille was originally white plastic but this was later changed to chrome plated plastic and the baseplate can be found in gloss or flat black.
The canopy was clear plastic on the early issues and tinted plastic on the later models,
The model was enhanced by four white plastic dogs which could be positioned in the load bed under the plastic canopy although I can't imagine what condition the dogs would be if the vehicle were real as it is virtually a greenhouse on wheels which would probably have cooked the dogs in no time at all!.
Like the white plastic grille the dogs can be prone to sunfade which will turn them off white or yellow in extreme cases.
For added play value the model was equipped with Lesneys "Autosteer" system which meant the front wheels could be steered by pressing down on the side of the vehicle that you wanted to steer towards, releasing the pressure would allow the wheels to return to the straight ahead position.
There was just one casting modification which was to the load bed floor which was smooth on the early issues and textured on the later ones.
The white grilled versions are slightly scarcer than the chromed grille issues but there are no rare variations to this model, One pre production example is known to exist which is painted in orangy yellow with a grey plastic base and unpainted baseplate.
The kennel truck was packaged in 'F' type boxes which can be found with or without "Autosteer" on the front, It was converted to superfast wheels in 1971 and was deleted in 1973.
