PLEASE NOTE: I will no longer be altering the variation codes. All new discoveries will be inserted in to their correct place in the timeline and given a suffix.
So a new variation that would be nearest to variation 4 would become the new 4a, etc.

Moko Lesney Matchbox 38b Vauxhall victor estate

The Victor estate (station wagon) was built in the UK by Vauxhall the UK branch of GMC (General Motors Corporation),
As an estate car it was a very successful product because there were so many made, Back in the 1960s and 70s I seem to remember more Victor estates being on the road than there were of the regular saloon cars.

Lesney introduced the Victor to the Matchbox 1-75 series in 1963.
It was always painted in a bright yellow with a gloss black baseplate and it was fitted with a clear plastic window unit,
The detailed interior can be found in either red or green plastic which varies in shade that will lighten if left in direct sunlight.
To add to play value it was fitted with a working lift up tailgate that was hinged to the inside of the roof.
Silver trim was only applied to the grille and front bumper and on later issues the trim was omitted from the bumper.

Grey, Silver or black plastic wheels were mounted on dome head axles with rounded ends and although there are quite a few wheel and interior variations to collect there are no known casting variations.
Variation 1 with green interior and 8 x 18 black wheels, Variation 2 with red interior and 9 x 20 grey wheels and variation 10 with green interior and 10 x 36 tread grey plastic wheels are all hard to find and dont come up for sale very often so the prices for these are estimated. In general it is a fairly common model and quite easy to find so it must have been a fairly good seller although playworn examples may have the tailgate missing as it can break off easily during rough play,
It was available in box types 'D' and 'E' with a blue car shown on the 'D' box and a correct yellow car on the 'E' box.
It was deleted in 1967 to make way for the 38c Honda motorcycle and trailer.
