Moko Lesney Matchbox 21d Foden concrete truck

The Lesney model of the Foden concrete mixer truck made its appearance in the Matchbox 1-75 series in early 1968.
It only appeared in the one livery which was a yellow painted cab and an orangy-red painted chassis but the colours can vary as the yellow can be orange-yellow to yellow and the red can be almost brown on some issues.
The Foden was fitted with a green tinted window unit and the mixer barrel was yellow plastic which would rotate when the vehicle was pushed along, It was turned by a spiral cut yellow plastic gear wheel which was sleeved over the top of the second axle which would locate into a larger gear wheel which was molded into the drum.
The mixer drum was originally mounted on a regular axle pin but this was later removed and small extensions were molded into the drum body for it to pivot on, Later on the hole in the back for the rear drum pivot was countersunk.
The base was also modified when a hole was added to the large crossmember below the mixer barrel.
The axle posts were modified twice, At first the axle posts had a smooth inner face, Later thin braces were added to the sides and a very late issue had much wider braces cast in.
The left rear of the body was also modified three times, The first issue had a wide ladder and the platform below the ladder was thin, The platform must have been damaged at some stage as there was a very poor repair dome to it which left the platform much thicker than the other ones. This was later repaired again leaving a thinner platform which was the same thickness as the other platforms but for some reason the top of the right hand side of the ladder now tapered inwards. Finally two braces were cast in one either side which joined the inner edge of the rear mudguards with the rearmost edge of the platforms.
The Foden was packaged in 'E' and 'F' type boxes, It was converted to superfast wheels in 1970 and deleted in 1973.
