Moko Lesney Matchbox 19c Aston Martin DBR5

The Lesney model of the 19c Aston Martin DBR5 joined the Matchbox 1-75 series in early 1962,
It was always painted metallic green and it always had a gloss black baseplate that was attached to the body by two round rivets,
the first run had the inside of the baseplate painted black but this was discontinued on all later issues.

It was fitted with intricate 8mm die cast wire wheels which were fitted with 14 x 60 black plastic tyres on dome head axles with rounded ends.
It was fitted with an unpainted diecast steering wheel and could be found with either a white or a grey plastic driver and the grey driver is a slightly more detailed molding than the white one,

Unusually for an early model like this it was never highlighted with silver trim,
It was usually fitted with number 19 decals which was the number that was found on the real car but numbers 3, 5, 41 and 52 can also be found but note that the driver is removable & interchangable so other combiations probably exist to those on the variation table,
The same driver was fitted to the 73b Ferrari race car,

The model is one of the few with no casting or paint variations at all,
It is rare with any number other than 19,
it was packaged in 'C' and 'D' type boxes and was replaced by the 19d Lotus formula 1 racing car in 1965.
