The Lesney model of the Scammell snowplough joined the Matchbox 1-75 series in 1963,
The body was always painted grey and the tipper bed was always painted orange and peobably because the front of the vehicle was covered by the dozer blade silver trim was never applied to this one,The tipper body could be tipped by hinging on a regular dome head axle pin and it was held in the up position by a curved pin in the bottom of the tipper body that was a tight fit through a black plastic block located between the chassis rails,
The plough blade was enhanced by the addition of a striped decal which can be coloured either red & white or orange & white.
The blade was loosely mounted to the vehicle so there was some movement over rough ground but unfortunately the blade was attached by two thin rods which were not really strong enough so the snow plough is often found minus the blade,
It can be found fitted with either 11 or 11.5 x 45 black plastic or 11.5 x 45 grey plastic wheels on dome head rounded axles,
There were few casting variations, Firstly the base had a hole cast in later issues and the holed base also had some rearranging of the text,
The steps were originally open but part way into the vehicles life the openings on the right side steps were filled in, soon after the left side steps were also filled in,
The grey wheeled version is scarce and fetches a premium but the black wheeled version is fairly common,
It was packaged in 'D' and 'E' type boxes with a variety of illustrations to the boxes and it was deleted in 1969 with the introduction of the new number 16d the Case bulldozer.
