PLEASE NOTE: I will no longer be altering the variation codes. All new discoveries will be inserted in to their correct place in the timeline and given a suffix.
So a new variation that would be nearest to variation 4 would become the new 4a, etc.

Moko Lesney Matchbox 15a diamond T prime mover

The Lesney model of the Diamond T prime mover became the latest of the earlier large scale model range to be scaled down for inclusion into the Matchbox 1-75 series,
It was based on the prime mover from the 1950 prime mover set although it was a completely redesigned and much nicer model,
The large scale 1950 prime mover set included a trailer and bulldozer which were to soon follow the Diamond T by being scaled down to fit into the 1-75 series,

The Diamond T was usually painted orange except for a very short early run that was painted yellow,
This was soon changed back to orange which it kept until the model was deleted.
Silver trim was applied to the radiator grille and fuel tank? that was mounted between the cab and the body.
It was originally fitted with six grey metal wheels on flat head axles with crimped ends, Later dome head axles with crimped ends were used and the final issue was fitted with grey plastic wheels but unlike the earlier issues it now had ten wheels as four were fitted to each of the rear axles.

There was only one minor casting modification which was the casting in of a very short ejector ring on the right hand end of the fuel tank.
The grey wheeled model is probably as rare as the yellow one, possibly even rarer but the yellow one is particularly hard to find in truly mint condition hence the high value it demands.
It was packaged in 'B' type boxes which could display two different illustrations of the model, It was replaced by the larger prime mover the 15b Rotinoff super atlantic tractor late 1959.
