PLEASE NOTE: I will no longer be altering the variation codes. All new discoveries will be inserted in to their correct place in the timeline and given a suffix.
So a new variation that would be nearest to variation 4 would become the new 4a, etc.

Moko Lesney Matchbox 10d Leyland pipe truck

The Lesney model of the Leyland pipe truck joined the Matchbox 1-75 series in mid 1966.
It was painted red and it had eight 11.5 x 45 black plastic wheels on dome head axles with rounded ends and it was fitted with a blue tinted window unit.
It can be found with the common chromed plastic base or a harder to find white plastic base that was attached by the headlights and grille locating into holes in the front panel and by a single rivet,
To add to it's play value it came with either six or seven grey plastic pipes that could be fitted together to make one long pipe,

The posts on the side of the load bed were originally 1.5mm wide at the top but these were soon increased to 2.5mm wide, Then the base was altered so first the words 'Leyland no 10' were replaced by 'Ergomatic cab' but this was now on a raised platform where it had previously been on a smooth baseplate.
Next a tow guide was added to the baseplate,
Finally axle braces were cast on the underneath for some extra strength where the axles located to the body.
The last two variations could be found with either a chromed plastic baseplate or a white plastic baseplate.
The Pipr truck is a very common piece so it must have been popular in its day, There are no rare variations. One pre production model is known that was painted green with crimped axles and it was fitted with a tubular type headboard at the front of the load bed & behind the cab which is not found on the regular production models.
The Leyland was packaged in 'E' and 'F' type boxes and it was adapted to take superfast wheels in 1970 and deleted in 1973.
