As a youngster watching the London buses do their skid training used to fascinate me. Here's a little video taken at a Chiswick open day, the health & safety police would have a field day now!

Well remember Chiswick works. We used to go to the Xmas party every year and by the way those buses can tilt to almost 45 degrees before they will topple over. Used to watch them testing them on a plate that used to go up one side to make sure they didn't topple over.

My dad used to work for LT as an electrician and wired up most of the garages in London. Every year we went to the Xmas party at Chiswick as that was his main base. Last job he did was the LT museum at Covent garden and they all got a presentation gift which was a badge, book etc for working on it. When I was older and drove a car he used to get me to come over and pick up all his scrap copper wire LOL
That's the machine I remember, a big slab of sheet steel to tip the bus.
