I was up last weekend and was planning to stay for 2 weeks to take in the Scotmodel event but had to come home early, trouble is its £160 in petrol each time I go up, not to mention at least 8 hours driving and 8 hours back again, I need a rich girlfriend who drives lol.

Stanstead is my nearest airport which is still 50 miles away, and then you have to pay to park as well, and I really need to have the car when I am in Scotland so its best to drive, I like the drive up, especially when you get north of the M62 and the roads get quieter,
the A66 can be fun at times too, last time I came up I was overtaken by a fully kitted out MG Metro or something, He got about 50 yards in front of me and for some reason he drifted over to the central reservation and put his front wheel in a rut, the car span round and literally fell to pieces as there were spoilers and skirts and bits of car all over the road. I never ran over much of it (lol)
