7c Ford Refuse Truck

Post by Idris »

None of the NAMC’s “Catalog of all Series Matchbox Models” (second edition), the AIM's “1-75 Series Regular Wheels” catalogue (second printing, 1983), or Stannard lists any variation not already catalogued by Nick.
Houghton has an intriguing (and unlikely) variation listed as 7c-4: orange body, plated base, no tow guide, grooved toe with cutout, with rear brace, no corner brace. This is supported by a grainy photograph (so I suppose it must be real). Does any Member have such a model?
U.K. Matchbox examined the model in vol. 3 no. 12 (Feb. '81) p232 and vol. 4 no. 1 (Apr. '80) p3 but does not list any variations not already covered by Nick.

I have mentioned it yet. Just to remember. There is one unlisted variation on the front tongue. The first models had a rectangular brace for the front "snap in" tongue. During the production the mold was damaged and the front brace was changed to triangular shape.
a) rectangular brace
b) triangular brace

I think that the best collection of the 7c Refuse Trucks has Jason. He has showed us the very nice Pre-Pro and the very first models.

Hi all,

I just realized that I do own a model without the tongue as well.
