I am in the process of restoring a 52A Maserati 4CLT.
And I was tinkering with the idea to put a set of grey metal wheels (ex. A2a transporter) on it.
They don't look bad to me, but what do others think of this?

To be honest - leave it the way it is now, i love the look!

Technically you will have to cut 4 little tubes over the axles to keep the wheels outside.

Thanks Roland, and yes I need to cut 4 spacers to hold them in the right place.

These wheels have a certain vintage look which does suit this model.

I think they look very nice like that. I was thinking that the front wheels should perhaps be slightly smaller than the back but looking at some real images it seems some were like that and some were the same size.

Thought the metal wheels do give it a cool unique look!

Interesting Automobile data base in the link from Bob. I had a quick look at the Rolls-Royce section and... Please do not use it for obtaining pictures of Rolls-Royce Armoured Cars or 40-50 H.P. cars. Among several pictures in the Armoured cars section, only one vehicle is actually a genuine Armoured car.

I shudder to think what I will find in the other Rolls-Royce and Bentley sections.

The metal wheels do give it a vintage look that could work with this model....but I am not sure if it would be as effective if you repaint the car and driver with a fresh coat of paint. Definitely would not work if the paint were glossy. Might work with a flat paint palette. Or it might work with a paint scheme that leaves some of the mazak exposed.

It would be very different from the full size race car but still could be cool!
