Introduced into the 'Models of Yesteryear' range in 1990, the model was based on a car once owned by Rudyard Kipling.
Y-36 Rolls-Royce Phantom I 4 door saloon in 1/45th scale.
The real car with a 4 door saloon body by Hooper on chassis number 20 AL. The model is not totally accurate as several details can be seen to be wrong, the front door handles for instance being in the wrong place, the scuttle design immediately below the windscreen etc, etc.
The first version of the model was incorrectly painted in dark Red for the main body...
...and it was not until 1992 when a medium Blue version was introduced to look more like the real car.
This car survives and is on display at the Kipling's Home at Bateman's, East Sussex, England.
