Rolls Royce #39
Rolls Royce #39
I was wondering how it would look if I replaced the superfast wheels for a different set. These wheels from a Husky horse trailer.
Here the result:

I like the wheel transplant but I don't think the White painted body is the best colour for this model, no offence Gerrit, it just does not suit this particular casting.

Thanks Kevin, the wheels do suit this car. The color however is not as white as the picture shows, it is full cream more like the picture below. I am afraid the flash ruined the presentation. I am not such a good photographer I am afraid.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:I like the wheel transplant but I don't think the White painted body is the best colour for this model, no offence Gerrit, it just does not suit this particular casting.

I also used this color combination on a #24

Re: Rolls Royce #39
OK Gerrit, fully understood. I will not use flash for any pictures if I can help it and so far I don't think I have posted any on the forum.
Flash photography can be difficult if the flash system is built into the Camera, as most of them will be for some of the forum members and requires some extra thought about the whole process of taking pictures. So far I have not covered flash photography in the 'Photography/Edit your pictures' topic, but probably will have to for those of us that have the built-in system on our Cameras.

I saw yestarday a superb UK shadow in gold near Arras (France). I think this car is beautiful almost whatever its coat can be.

Re: Rolls Royce #39
I agree, the design is timeless having been developed in the mid-1950's and put into production in late 1965, it was not replaced by a new Rolls-Royce until 1981.
The car had a few design proposals that perhaps were not quite right as can be seen below...
...not quite there, but is showing potential.

The Tibet/Burma project Rolls Royce/Bentley design proposals show some Rover P 5 influences.
There was talk of Rolls Royce working closely with Rover but nothing like a takeover by either of them ever took place.

...and even when they had finalised the design, they had to break it as much as they could through crash testing and driving things into it...

Read somewhere that the Peugot 403 had an influence on the Silver Shadow design.
