I notice there is a 'Yesteryear' Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost lying in the box of 'Beaters' you have shown, any plans for that, maybe an Armoured car or the 'Balloon Car' as driven by Charles Rolls, both fairly easy conversion jobs.

I used to have some photos of the rear of the Cadillac, but must have deleted them to save space. It had a rear window and the back of the cab went down close to the base. It was to be a flower car and paired with another ambulance turned hearse. Without the interior, the model looks like a low rider. It was going to have a normal stance and I had some scale flowers that would fill the bed.

It was part of a failed club car event. I stopped working on the flower wagon when the whole project fell apart, it was never finished. The hearses and unfinished flower wagon languished here for a few years. Next, the whole project packed up and went to another restorer. By then, the project had gone a different direction and about a year or two later, all of the stuff came back home (where it once again sat).

One day I cleaned out all the assembled hearses and grouped them with one prototype finished model that was in a modified recreated vintage blister pack (with custom box) and sold the whole lot on ebay. The unfinished flower car went into the box with the rest of the models and stuff. All of the money from that sale went to charity (Hospice of the Comforter).

I considered finishing the flower car but I still had a bad taste in my mouth from all the work (and money) I put into that project. VBD member Matchbox & Molars now owns everything that was worth having from that failed project.

I've so many plans and so little time. When my number is finally up, the wife will need to have a huge "estate sale" of all the beaters I never got around to fixing and all the supplies I use to restore the models. Sadly, many of the YYs are at the bottom of my to do list.

OK Joe. I have looked at the books and your number is right down the pecking order, so you're fine for a number of Years yet, so get stuck into them there models for us...

Can you reveal how you determined the colors for the dump in the 1st photos? The match to the original seems perfect. I'm usually good at figuring out what color it should be, but can't mix those colors or find a match among the rattle can lids. I just wrote an email to Krylon last week complaining that they offer no way to determine what the actual color of their paint is. There are several standards - RAL, BS, RGB, Pantone - and if I knew what they were selling I could determine if it was close enough to the shade I want. They told me to stick my head in a bucket.
