As mentioned briefly in another tread I will help with the exhibition for the 50 years anniversary of the dutch NAMAC club.
NAMAC = Nederlandse Algemene Model Auto Club.
The exhbition will run from wednesday july 1st 2015 till sunday august 9 2015 in the worlds oldest car collection museum in the Hague.
The ownerr has 13 of the 16 still existing prewar Spyker cars.
This is one of the best car collections in the world.

There will be o 110 modelcar collectors exhbiting in 110 glasscabinets and they all show a small part of their collections.
This wil be the world's biggest public modelcar exhibition ever.

I have choosen for 3 generic Matchbox displays from 1964, 1965 and 1966 as the exhbition is about 50 years of the NAMAC club.
I expect to have some more space in the cabinet so will also show some old catalogues and ofcourse the original boxes of the models on the displays.

There will be special book for this exhibition with one page for each collector. Each collector was asked to write a small article and make some photos of what they are going to display.
I have written a text in december and sent them some photos to go along with the text.

These displays are populated the way they were pictured in the UK trade catalogues for 1964, 1965 and 1966.

Book your diaries now and don't miss the great exhibition.
july 1st 2015 till sunday august 9 2015

I ran through the lineup of automobiles within the collection! What a spell-binding list. And I was delighted to see that the owner saw fit to include a 1948 Hudson Commodore! :)
It must be an enormous facility to house all those cars and this upcoming toy collection exhibit as well.

Yesterday, Saturday, May 9th, I was at the club day of the dutch NAMAC club which was held in the dutch Austin Healy museum in the village of Vreeland (where some 130 NAMAC members were present)
On this day more details were announced of the the largest ever exhibition on modelcars, this summer in the Louwmanmuseum in the city of The Hague.

This exhibition is for the 50th anniversary of the Dutch General Model Car Club (NAMAC)
(5,200 paying members!)

http://www.louwmanmuseum.nl/Ontdekken/O ... ectie.aspx

The exhibition runs from Wednesday, July 1 till Sunday 9 August

112 model car collectors including one from the UK and one from Belgium show parts of their collections in 112 man-sized cabinets in two halls.
The largest model car exhibition ever held.
8 people are already busy for 2 years with the preparation process.
15,000 flyers have been printed
There is contact with more than 200 newspapers / magazines etc.
I will exhibit over 50 year old old Matchbox shopdisplays.

Scroll down slightly on the following website for more information:

http://www.namac.nl/

Yesterday I saw the floorplan of the 2 halls and allotted to me is a very beautiful place on a 1st row.
Between all the cabinets is 1.20 meter spacing. It looks very very impressive!
The dutch year museum card is valid in this museum
Throughout the whole exhibition there two employees of the dutch NAMAC club present. They also give you some information and there is a catalogue in which each participant in the exhibition has half a page.
There is a free special building board made available and there will also be a digital presentation.

I am looking forward to see you there.

A MUST to visit, even if you come from far away!

If you need 4 minutes per cabinet to look (which is not very long) it will cost you the entire day of 8 hours! if only to see the model car exhibition!
That only to show how many modelcars there will be on display!

Thank's for the link Marcel to see the building of a show in progress. How nice to see a past collector friend by the name of Jan Moolhuizen still collecting Rolls-Royce and Bentley models, for many Years he had the largest collection in the World (may still have, nobody's counting now!), and I would love to be in a position to visit another show by NAMAC to see Him.
