Hi, my name's Peter, from Vienna, Austria - and I don't collect Matchbox. :o

As a child in the seventies I had a lot of Matchbox (not a single RW, only Superfast; my favourite was the Dodge Charger III) but always preferred the larger models from Corgi and Dinky. Unfortunately my childhood Matchbox models are all long gone, I now wish I had kept them but I wanted to concentrate on models in about 1:43 scale.

I have always been fascinated with Dinky's Gerry Anderson toys and Corgi's James Bond cars, and TV and film vehicles - from vintage British diecast to modern Chinese resin - are still my favourite area of collecting.

I found this forum a few months ago while looking for information about Matchbox's James Bond models for "A View to a Kill". One of the search results was Ghosty's "Made in England" thread with the prototypes of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. I have enjoyed reading this forum since then as the members are not only very knowledgeable but also don't take the hobby too seriously and there's the right amount of information as well as fun and banter. :D I also found the threads about detecting fakes very interesting and certainly have learned a lot in the past months.

Thanks to all for making this forum such a nice place to visit!
Peter

Hello Peter, a big warm welcome to the forum.

Thank you for the compliments about my article you mention in your introduction.

You have a great 'Username' suggesting you are into both 'CORGI' and '007' models which by your introduction, this is quite clear.

If you're into Gerry Anderson models then you will enjoy my Dinky Toys "FAB I" book and there is an electronic slide-show version of it running on my Rolls-Royce website, just click the Blue Ghost Club (UK) link at the bottom of this posting, click-on 'The Models' at the top of the page, scroll down and click-on the big GHOSTHUNTER image, this takes you to another page, then click-on 'Links' and finally click-on the Blue link next to the...The 'DINKY TOYS' "FAB I" Rolls-Royce...

Any problems give me a shout.

Best regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

Welcome here Peter.

I don't collect Matchbox but have few ones though. Just like you, I collect Corgi (have few 007) and Dinky) and other 1/43 resin fine models or vintage diecast.

Corky.
