Shipping to eastern Europe?

To All,

I've listed a couple of items on ebay. Has anyone had problems shipping to Poland or Russia? If you have shipped to those countries, what is the best method? The items ship from the USA.

Thanks for the help,

Jeff

Poland? Yes, shipped there several times (from the USA) with no problems.

Russia? No way, no how (I keep that country blocked). I have, in the past, shipped regularly to the Estonia but would have second thoughts about that today.

I've posted a few to Eastern Europe and not had a problem so far. I use Royal Mail from the UK and they will only track to certain countries, so if the item is of any value I would check with your carrier first. Similarly, check the insurance side because not all carriers will refund the value of the item (as bought on ebay) within their base insurance, some may only cover the amount the item was originally bought for, which is often less. Bizarre but true. You may have to purchase additional insurance depending on the value.

For those of you that sell on a regular basis you might get a chuckle.
Oh my. Questions from Poland, Hungary, Russia, UAE and all destinations in between, all for a red No-45 BMW.

I remember a while back that tinman posted that buyers never read the entire listing. How very true. I clearly state what countries that the model will post to. May as well be written in cuneiform.

I admire those of you who sell on a regular basis. It's crazy.

For anyone who might have interest, the item number for the red BMW is 281322102987.
There is also a code 1 59 Singer. Should you find any fault in the listing please let me know.

Thanks,

Jeff

I think that, based on the way you wrote the description - "will ship to Australia, England, Germany and New Zealand" - , it is not unreasonable for anyone residing in a different country - especially in the EU - to ask if you would consider shipping to his/her country as well: after all it is clear that you are basically willing to ship internationally.

I know I would ask that if I were interested in the lot. I have asked that question in similar situations before, and in most cases the respective seller was in the end happy to ship to my country (Austria), and there was never a problem.

I have to add that the notion that England and Germany are acceptable as shipping destinations but Austria is not seems just a little bit offensive to me (and I wonder how Scottish and Welsh people feel about this!)

I'll send anywhere in the world, and have very, very few problems. The odd problem I do have I will just put down to being one of those things and carry on regardless. The sellers who infuriate me are those UK sellers who don't use Royal Mail and will therefore send anywhere in the world EXCEPT Scottish Islands. They are invariably the sellers trying to flog joblots with a 99p start and 15 quid postage, in spite of the fact you can post up to 1kg anywhere in the UK for £2.80....
