This seller thought this was acceptable packaging for this boxed SF model. Resulting in a badly creased box. Nightmare. :( :(

Unfortunately i did not specify when i won the item how i would like it to be posted, i.e Bubble wrapped in a strong cardboard box. Lesson learned.

Sympathies to you mate. It's a bit tragic that buyers are expected to specify that sellers use common sense......

I always specify how the model (and box) should be posted by using the "Add message" facility on PayPal.

That is really bad - it's not even a padded envelope . Trouble is that selling on eBay and postage costs do not go together as eBay charge the seller additional fees for postage (10%) now so sellers looking to save money do so as cheaply as possible. Additionally to qualify for an eBay discount one has to provide a free postage option , so eBay do little to help the shipping side of things . Some sellers are really dumb though so do need to be hand held

Ebay must be awash with cash!! they take commish on everything that the robbing b******s can think of, and they own paypal so you get hit again!!! I bet they own a majority share in the Post Office as well!!

It's about time the Competition Commission got involved as they are ripping the piss out of sellers and buyers alike!!

I do the same and also send them the same message using the "contact seller" and some time they ether don't take the time to read it or maybe...
They just can't READ :o

Soisjack is right though, the greedy bastards now take 10% commish. I personally would have thought this is illegal ? I lose on all items I post now as I haven't increased my postage charges. This packet is NOT acceptable Al send it back and neg him, that way he might get the message.

Whilst I agree the packet has been packed by a numpty , the seller should be given a chance to put things right. Not everyone is a seasoned seller / packer etc . Incidentally ebay revenue 2013 q1 was 3.7' billion dollars , so a year ago and increased roughly 20% since . What they fail to realise is that by pushing the free post option down to the seller ultimately leaves the buyer with a worse buying experience as shown here .royal mail have just announced further increases too and ebay fail to take into account shipping charges from country to country.

At least if you've told them how the model should be sent, you then have grounds for complaint (and giving negative feedback).
