This is quite a small toy fair and there wasn't much Matchbox, there was more Dinky and Railway, but I got there early and picked up a few little bits. All the loose models were beater box finds, £4 in total, so I was quite pleased, the Karrier is acutualy muddy brown (poor photo!) and the Y14 has no trim on the dome, which I hadn't seen before. As for the display sign, I don't know if I will keep it but it wasn't expensive and I couldn't leave it there. Does anyone have any info on it?

The 25a was replaced by 1960, so that seems a strange choice and the only '66 catalogues I can see at the moment cost 3d not 2d.

The Moko name had nothing to do with 1-75 by the time the Berlinetta joined as #75b. A close up of the printed photo will show up either the fine dots of genuine 1960s printing or modern ink jet printed mist. I suspect this is home made this millenium or at least the added Moko box labels are new made

I've managed to find out a little bit more, I was told it came from Dewsbury Museum and they received it in the 1980s along with a consignment of vintage toys that had been in store at another local museum called the Tolson Museum. Looking at the finish, I can't see any dots, so perhaps it's screen printed, it does have very feint brush strokes across it, suggesting it has been coated by hand with a matte clearcoat at some time. It's certainly got some age to it, perhaps it was created to enhance one of their displays although I can't see a museum commissioning something that wasn't legit so maybe they simply acquired it and didn't use it. Whatever the story, it's got a certain charm

John a load of these signes were done in the early 2000's in various guises. I see loads of them at antique fairs etc and the sellers always give the same old bullshit that they are original from the 1960's. Still nice display items though.

Yes, 50p. Funnily enough I've got three of these now and the other two were similar cheapos on ebay. Do you want to swap for the Lambo?
