? on Later Years (2004+) Superfast Reference Information

Greetings,
I'm working on cataloging my collection and have a question on reference material (basic models, variations, etc.) for Matchbox "Superfast" models post 2004 years to present. I've used the Charlie Mack "Superfast Matchbox Toys, 1969-2004" Volumes 1 and 2 reference books for those model years to catalog my Superfast collection (by model & variation), but now I'm starting on the newer stuff and wanted to know the best options for cataloging the post 2004 models in the same manner. I am not aware of an updated C. Mack reference book for this although I believe there was/is a "running" updated listing of such models in C. Mack's monthly newsletter(s)?
Any thoughts or guidance on this matter would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
Bill

Hello durangokid, I am not sure how or to what level you want to catalogue your models, but here is a route to another well informed website with several links that I am sure you can make use of...info@mbxforum.com...give it try, I had a look and found myself on a page full of modern matchbox models from 2004 onwards.

Regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

Hi GHOSTHUNTER,
Thank you very much for the information and link. This is a great Website including links to valuable information from Christian Falkensteiner. The Website has a treasure trove of information and will certainly help me catalog/identify additional parts of my collection. Ways to identify "variations" of a certain model covers a wide spectrum so websites such as this help collectors categorize models to their personal preferences.
I started using Charlie Mack "variations" (colors, wheel types, model base colors, tempa, etc.) to catalog many years ago because it worked well for me AND it was easy to find in HARD COPY catalogs at the time and over the years. Some may see this as "old school", but it has worked for me to date. Thus, it would be nice to see 2004+ subsequent years in this format, e.g. 28E- 12 (Dodge Daytona, iss. 1984 (MB 127), dark blue body, black base, 8 dot silver wheels, "5 Goat Racing Team" tempa, Macau casting (HK). If this method is out there, I would still like to know about it for the 2004+ years.
I do like seeing variations and cataloging methods on websites and electronically now because this allows for much easier searches, sorting, cross-referencing, updates, etc. so I am trying to move in that direction also............. It's a journey...........
Thanks again,
Bill

No probs Bill, anything any of the members can do for other members is a good thing and if it helps those members with their collections, then fine and I am happy if I have helped you in the right direction, to finding information relevant to your collecting requirements.

GHOSTHUNTER.

While continuing to look over reference information, I came across a couple additional excellent sites:

http://www.bamca.org/ Excellent database and photos

http://cobratoys.com.au/mbcat/ Excellent Matchbox Catalogue

The quest continues.................
Thanks,

Bill
