Sorry for the delay, damn camera batteries are flat.
Can I ask you all to check your 28c Jaguars for three casting variations
1) All jaguars have a roof securing rivet, my 3 line does not.
2) attached to either side of the radiator should be a brace which joins it to the front wings, a kind of front valance, again not found on the 3 line
3) to the passengers side of the engine the engine is connected to the front wing by a round casting which covers the front axle. again not found on the 3 line.
I will get some pics as soon as the batteries charge up.

So I should not try to examine these at night as my eyes are not what they once were.
There are TWO variations to look out for, The roof rivet and the front valance, here are the pictures

1. I see in your pictures that both models contain that pass side (You Brits still have that part confused, LOL) round motor support covering the axle, so does my GPW 3 line.
2. My GPW model is with side radiator supports, unlike your earlier casting pictured without them.
3. My GPW has the roof rivet in it to hold the window glaze, and the rivet has been properly spun down to hold the glaze securely, even cracking it a bit. The window rivet is spun down to appear just as a base rivet would be. My window glaze on this GPW one appears to have a second hole in it towards the rear of the roof that is unused. Your roof picture should have shown at least a portion of this 2nd glaze hole if yours had it Nick. (2 glaze styles?)
I do enjoy the fact that yours is equipped with the glaze with it's center hole Nick, even tough your earliest casting body was done without the roof rivet to hold it in. Could other Jags without these roof rivets now be discovered? I would have thought the roof would have been cast with the rivet first, and then the window glaze unit designed later to fit over it........I guess you right driving Brits have always been a bit opposite than we Yanks. These new features are most interesting for us Nick, Thanks for illustrating them here so all collectors can now check their Jags out.
The other part of your discovery Nick is that there is now the possibility of the earlier 3 line base being mixed with later roof rivet body as mine, rivetless body as yours, or perhaps the later standard design 4 line base casting could be found with 'your' early rivetless roof body on it. Who has ever checked for the lack of roof rivet on their 'common' 4 line base BPW Jaguars before now?? Cheers, kwakers

Kwakers’ comments and observations offer an explanation as to why Nick’s 3-line base 28c has BPW whilst all the others known have GPW: it is simply that Nick’s model is a much earlier casting.
It will be interesting to see whether this theory holds up when other 3-line GPW 28c are examined.

Hi Nick
Very nice spotted. I agree with Dick and Hugh, your model seems to be an earlier casting variation. My model is the same as Dick´s, the rivet has been properly spun down and it has thin front valance
I am adding some photos of my 3 lines Jag. I am comparing it with 4-lines Jag with GPW (unlisted). There are visible two differences (apart from 3 and 4 lines).
a) the colour of 3-lines Jag is more silver-grey (on the left side)

b) there is thin front valance in front of the motor

There are several variations of window glaze and the rivet:
a) window glazé with one central ejector ring
